If in the first season the goal was to unite a group of ordinary people who gradually discovered extraordinary skills and had the mission to prevent the explosion of Peter Petrelli, the second had the challenge of intertwining the path of these characters, revealing the weak point of their powers, presenting a new villain and, above all, making it clear that they are not the only heroes in the story. Even after the great confrontation in the New York sky, which resulted in the explosion of Peter and Nathan Petrelli, seemed to have put an end to the old problems, the lives of the mutants was never the same. We can say it got even more hectic.

Hiro Nakamura activates his power during the battle against Sylar and will end up in feudal Japan in the 17th century, where he meets the failed samurai Takezu Kensei, whom he helps develop warrior skills, by revealing a great villain in the body of the immortal Adam Monroe. Noah Bennet leaves Texas to live in a California town, he wants to drive his family, especially Claire, away from the intentions of Bob Bishop, a former founder of the Company responsible for researching the fatal Shanti virus. The Company is formed by the first generation of heroes, whose participants are, in addition to Bob, the father and mother of Peter and Nathan Petrelli, Kaito Nakamura, Adam Monroe, among others. All of them are emblazoned on a photo that will be used as an investigative tool.

Peter Petrelli is found unremembered inside a container in Ireland, and struggles to regain the old form. Nathan abandons his family, gives up his political career and, unbelievably, will seek answers about his power and the heroes. Matt Parkman has a tough battle ahead of him. He discovers that his father, in addition to belonging to the Company, owns an amazing power, capable of imprisoning him within his own nightmares. Mohinder, who shares custody of Molly with Matt, finds himself in a quandary. The geneticist teamed up with Noah and agrees to work for the Company, but ends up believing that Bob's intentions aren't bad.

After the first season clash, Sylar loses his powers and becomes completely defenseless. Only, when he finds the escaped mutants Maya and Alejandro, he sees a hope of resonating them. All these events are arranged in the episodes following a script very cut, full of nuances and full of flashbacks. In the first season, the end of this volume closes the proposed narrative, but opens the possibility for a continuation. Even with only 11 chapters and a screenwriter's strike right in the middle of the recordings, 'Heroes' managed to condense an engaging, mysterious plot that certainly explained the origin of our heroes.
